A limousine (or limo) is an unusually long luxury car, traditionally black or white in color (other colors, however, have also been used for limousines, such as pink, magenta, or blue). Limousines are most commonly driven by chauffeurs and are often associated with the wealthy.
While some limousines are owned by individuals, many are owned by governments to transport senior politicians, by large companies to transport executives, or by broadcasters to transport guests. Most limousines, however, operate as livery vehicles, providing upmarket competition to taxicabs.
The word limousine is derived from the name of the French region Limousin, and is associated with the long cloaks once worn by the shepherds there.

Shawn R replied: "Last year a friend of mine referred me to Diamond Limos. I did use a large hummer though which was probably more expensive than their white one. I don't know how much it costs, but you could give them a try. Their service was very good and I paid £325 for the hummer for three hours at that time. They did provide drinks, like a magnum and it was fun. If you're looking for a clean limo, it's a good choice. Don't take my word for it though! Always look around on Google or something, maybe the prices have gone cheaper because of the credit crunch.

Wifeforlife replied: "In Canada, a limo costs $ 550 to $750 for the minimum 4 hour "block". (You also need a ride home, hon.) Standard rates run at $200 per hour. We have done this many times in BC and in Alberta. The 4 hours covered driving to our house, waiting a few minutes, driving bride and maids to church, waiting during 45 minute ceremony and about 15 minutes outside talking to folks, then driving bride and groom, MOH and Best Man to park and waiting during photos, then driving to the reception."

I was gonna have a limo in my wedding...and for a 10passanger white limo they were charging $86 an hour with a 2 hour minuim..BUT the problem with it was they start their time as soon as they leave their parking lot plus the time it takes to get back to their location... and they are about an hour away from where my wedding is...So basically it would probably cost around $400 to be able to ride in the limo for alittle while and take pictures and all that good stuff......"
